Calculation Methodology
- 1Select individuals aged 18 and older using the
AGEPcolumn with a filter conditionAGEP >= 18. - 2Derive age groups from the
AGEPcolumn using bins: 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+, corresponding to labels 1 through 6. - 3Categorize federal poverty levels using the
POVPIPcolumn with these ranges: <100% FPL, 100-199% FPL, 200-399% FPL, and 400%+ FPL. - 4Apply the weight column
PWGTPto weight each individual's data. - 5Aggregate weighted counts by age group categories derived from
AGEPand by federal poverty level categories fromPOVPIP. - 6Calculate the share of the population within each federal poverty level category for each age group.
