Calculation Methodology
- 1Select records from the ACS dataset where
AGEPis 65 or older. - 2Identify households with high-speed internet access using the
HISPEEDcolumn, whereHISPEED = 1indicates access. - 3Use the
STcolumn to filter and group data by state. - 4Apply the person weight
PWGTPto each record to account for survey design. - 5Calculate the weighted share of people aged 65 or older with high-speed internet access within each state.
- 6Present the results as a state-level map showing the percentage of this population with broadband subscription.
