Calculation Methodology

HHLDRAGEPis 60 or older to focus on adults age 60 or older. - 2Filter data by
HOUSEHOLD_OWNERSHIPto separate Homeowner with mortgage (HOUSEHOLD_OWNERSHIP=1), Homeowner, no mortgage (HOUSEHOLD_OWNERSHIP=2), and Renter (HOUSEHOLD_OWNERSHIP=3) groups. - 3Use
GRPIPandOCPIPcolumns to classify housing cost burden categories: spending less than 30%, 31%-49%, or 50% or more of income on housing costs. - 4Derive race and ethnicity categories from
HHLDRRAC1PandHHLDRHISPcolumns according to specified mapping logic. - 5Apply the weight column
WGTPto calculate weighted percentages for each race and housing cost burden category within owner/renter groups. - 6Aggregate the weighted results by
RACEcategories and housing cost burden groups to produce the grouped stacked bar chart distribution.
