Calculation Methodology

HHLDRAGEPis 60 or older to focus on adults age 60 or older. - 2Filter data by
HOUSEHOLD_OWNERSHIPto separate Homeowner with mortgage (HOUSEHOLD_OWNERSHIP=1), Homeowner, no mortgage (HOUSEHOLD_OWNERSHIP=2), and Renter (HOUSEHOLD_OWNERSHIP=3) groups. - 3Use the columns
GRPIPandOCPIPto classify housing cost burden categories: spending less than 30%, 31%-49%, or 50% or more of income on housing costs. - 4Apply the weight column
WGTPto weight each record for representativeness. - 5Aggregate weighted counts by
RACEcategories to create grouped data for each owner/renter status. - 6Calculate the percentage distribution of housing cost burden categories within each race group and owner/renter status for the final grouped stacked bar chart.
