Calculation Methodology
- 1Select individuals aged 65 and older using the
AGEPcolumn with the conditionAGEP >= 65. - 2Use the
combined_difficultiescolumn to identify categories of cognitive and other difficulties based on the original columnsDREM,DPHY,DEYE,DEAR,DDRS, andDOUT. - 3Apply the weight column
PWGTPto weight each individual's response. - 4Exclude records that do not meet the age or difficulty criteria.
- 5Aggregate the weighted counts by the categories defined in
combined_difficultiesto calculate the share of older adults with cognitive difficulty reporting other difficulties. - 6Present the results as a single-bar chart showing the distribution of Combined Difficulties categories among the population aged 65 and older.
