Calculation Methodology

  1. 1
Select individuals aged 65 and older using the AGEP column with the condition AGEP >= 65.
  2. 2
Use the combined_difficulties column to identify categories of cognitive and other difficulties based on the original columns DREM, DPHY, DEYE, DEAR, DDRS, and DOUT.
  3. 3
Apply the weight column PWGTP to weight each individual's response.
  4. 4
Exclude records that do not meet the age or difficulty criteria.
  5. 5
Aggregate the weighted counts by the categories defined in combined_difficulties to calculate the share of older adults with cognitive difficulty reporting other difficulties.
  6. 6
Present the results as a single-bar chart showing the distribution of Combined Difficulties categories among the population aged 65 and older.
