Calculation Methodology
- 1Select individuals aged 65 and older using the
AGEPcolumn with the conditionAGEP >= 65. - 2Derive the Combined Difficulties categories from the columns
DREM,DPHY,DEYE,DEAR,DDRS, andDOUTbased on specified conditions indicating cognitive and other difficulties. - 3Use the original weight column
PWGTPto apply weights to each respondent's data. - 4Exclude records with missing or invalid values in the relevant difficulty columns.
- 5Calculate the weighted share of older adults within each Combined Difficulties category.
- 6Present the results as a single-bar chart showing the distribution of Combined Difficulties among the population aged 65 and older.
