Calculation Methodology
- 1Select individuals aged 65 and older using the
AGEPcolumn with the conditionAGEP >= 65. - 2Derive the combined difficulties categories from the
DREM,DPHY,DEYE,DEAR,DDRS, andDOUTcolumns according to specified conditions for cognitive and other difficulties. - 3Use the
weightcolumn to apply sample weights to each individual record. - 4Calculate the weighted share of older adults for each combined difficulties category.
- 5Aggregate the weighted shares across the entire dataset without further geographic or demographic grouping.
- 6Present the results as proportions in a single-bar chart representing the share of older adults with cognitive difficulty reporting other difficulties as well.
